INGENIOUS TREND INSPIRATIONS. LONDON FASHION WEEK SS14

London Fashion Week has come to a close and as the fashion crowd packs their suitcases and heads off to Paris, Ingenious takes a look at some of the most inspirational designs from our favourite week in September.

Collections showcased, tended to exude either understated allure or wild excitement – a fabulous palette of variety catering to a woman’s every mood. The romantic, pastel hued collections were fresh and floral; whilst the seductively intriguing designs explored it all, from colourful patterns to sharply cut monochrome.

Christopher Bailey – creative director of Burberry – presented a collection reminiscent of an English garden. Spots of dusky red bloomed amid an array of soft pastels that transported the audience to the dulcet setting of a Spring-time countryside. Here, lost in a green maze, strolled, Bailey’s ethereal inspiration:  the English Rose. Our favourite look – an embellished pastel green coat, cinched at the waist with a petal adorned belt – got us dreaming of the spring, early heat waves and sun-kissed skin, cooled down with the touch of rose gold accessories. We would pair this ensemble with a romantic rose gold pave cocktail ring and a pair of exquisite chandelier earrings.

Osman presented another notable collection, showcasing clean-cut designs with a hint of Eastern magnificence. Translucent beadwork and picturesque prints adorned otherwise understated garments. We were enchanted by the elegant white looks, which have instantly earned their place on our SS14 wish-list. We would layer a couple of delicate gold pendants just below the neckline to mirror the embellishment and accentuate the spirit of oriental adventure.

The pinnacle of true artisanship was revealed in John Rocha’s collection. The designer has masterfully captured deep, mysterious romance and melancholic dreaminess inspired by, as rumour has, his wife, Odette’s iconic style. Intricate and eccentric lace gowns crafted using some most overwhelming techniques have set our hearts longing for sensuality – semi-precious minerals in all their sumptuous natural glory set against opulent filigree metal. Or for the touch of cool mystery hiding in the dark shadows try some silver jewellery embellished in crystal.

We have fallen in love with an overwhelming variety of looks, each ingenious in their own way, and can not wait to start planning our Spring/Summer wardrobe. What were your favourite looks from this Fashion Week and what pieces of Ingenious jewellery would you choose to accessorise them with?
